Build an email from blocks, without writing HTML
Templates have a second authoring mode: stack blocks instead of writing markup. Twelve block types cover headings, text, buttons, images, image beside text, dividers, spacers, lists, quotes, social links, custom HTML and the unsubscribe link, with document-wide design settings and bounded per-block controls.

The preview is composed like a send
The server compiles the block document and composes the preview through the same steps a real send runs, so what you approve is what recipients get. That matters more than it sounds: the usual failure of a block editor is a preview rendered by the editor's own code, which agrees with the editor and disagrees with the mail.
The compiler also writes the Outlook idioms that make an email survive contact with a desktop client, which is the main reason hand-written campaign HTML is unpleasant to maintain.
Raw HTML is unchanged
Existing templates are untouched and the HTML mode works exactly as it did. A block template can be converted to editable HTML at any time, which is the escape hatch: the block builder is a faster way to get to the same artefact, not a format you become locked into.
